A Hotdog Dream
In a culinary journey of life, it is often the unexpected that brings joy. As I was shopping at Menards in Cheyenne, WY, I realized I needed to eat for the day. There it was, a vendor hut! I stopped to read the menu and it was well thought out. As a food critic, often times the menu structure hits me first to review. Silly Chef Donny, I was only there to grab a quick lunch. However, As I began to read, my eyes settled on something called the WTF Dog. This dog was smothered in chili, surrounded by frito corn chips, topped with sharp chedfdar cheese, fresh onions and jalapenos. It filled an entire food boat. I wasn't sure what to expect when I received this delight.
However, I took time to speak with the entrepreneur who created this delight. Is it a simple idea that has been around for some time, at least the mid 1950's. But she took time to put flavors together that complemented each other with the right amount of heat, sweet, and salt in its creation.
I am a persnickety snob at times when it comes to food flavors and decades of fine food experience. This "Hotdog Experience" actually stopped my taste buds from overreacting to the loss of flavor. I would like to share the word about "Juicy". I hope you will stop and try them. I have attached photos of the menu and my delicious lunch. Stop by and enjoy. Guten Appetit!
