Krauterhahnchen Gewurze
Austrian/German Herbed Chicken spice blend. 16oz container. Ideal for German/Austrian Krauterhahnschen baked or roasted chicken. Also excellent as a chicken soup herb base and on roasted potatoes and carrots. Great for Herbed rice alpine pilaf. This one has many uses, be creative.
Flavor Profile: Fresh herb-forward and savory. With bright notes of parsley, chives, and marjoram. Balanced by gentle warmth of garlic with a subtle lift of citrus combined with mild peppery notes. Kid-Friendly spice blend.
Usage: Take 2 T of dr herbs applied to a whole chicken dried with papertowel, rubbed with olive oil, then Krauterhahnschen spice blend applied to it. let stand 1 hour in refrigeration before baking or roasting for a truly flavorful bird. Bavarian/Tyrolean method is to only use about 1/3 C water for moisture under your bird. High heat around 375*F 30 to 45 minutes uncovered, then cover bird and lower temperature to 225*F for 1.5 to 2 hours. Bird will be very moist and tender and herb infused. Use 1T for 1lb of chicken pieces using same method to prepare whole bird. Reduce cook times to 15 minutes high heat uncovered 45 minutes low heat covered.
